BlackBerry maker Research in Motion, said Friday he was confident that the security concerns of India could be resolved to mutual satisfaction, including no "special offers for certain countries.
" India had threatened to cut off RIM's encrypted e-mail and instant messaging services unless they come in a campaign over fears that the communication is controlled country security risk.
The Canadian company said it sought to address what he said rumors and inaccurate speculation on a possible ban on its services business.
"RIM and the government of India had a series of constructive discussions over the past months and we are very pleased with the results and progress of these discussions," his statement."There has never been a ban on all BlackBerry services in India and all services remain fully available today," he said.
The company said that its ongoing discussions with the Indian government is "positive and progressive." He said the country's security architecture is the same world and society lacks the ability to provide customers with encryption keys.
"We share a common interest in continuing to meet legitimate security needs of enterprise customers and government, while the equally legitimate needs of law enforcement agencies investigating illegal activities in the universally accepted standards of practice for access legal, "he said.
