DJ Augustin scored 27 points, Stephen Jackson added 23 and the new look, uptempo beat Charlotte Bobcats held the night of the Detroit Pistons 105-100 on Monday to give coach Paul Silas through a victory in its infancy.
With the help of Silas and new combinations of forcing the pace after the renewal of fire Larry Brown last week, the Bobcats built a 23 point lead and almost lost everything.
Ben Gordon missed two attempts from 3-point tie in the final seconds before Tyrus Thomas free throw to second to end left aside for the Bobcats, who snapped a four-game series. Charlie Villanueva scored 25 points in 10 of his 14 shots for the Pistons, who have lost the second right.
