GSP has basically wiped out the welterweight division and I personally can’t see any credible contenders popping up any time soon. Likewise Anderson Silva has been dominant in the middleweight division taking on and beating all who dares to challenge him.
It’s a tough fight to call, GSP could grind out a win pinning Silva to the ground, that said, 5 rounds on the ground with Silva and you could end up in an armbar or triangle, just ask our friend Sonnen.
If I comes down to striking then Silva takes it, his reach would prove difficult to beat, add to that the range of weapons available to Silva could be too much.
Fight 2: Lesnar vs Fedor:
Both has suffered shock defeats in 2010 but that does nothing to suppress our desire to see these monsters duke it out in the octagon (or ring)
We are still struggling to work out if it’s the striking of Fedor or the wrestling of Lesnar that would win the day.
Lesnar is a beast when he gets hold of you but has shown on more than one occasion that he doesn’t have much defence when under prolonged pressure. Lesnar does have some crazy hands and some of the nastiest hammer fists in the business.
I don’t see Fedor fighting on much longer so let’s hope he and Dana can get a deal done soon and give us this huge fight
2011 could see both fights take place, GSP v Silva is a must for both fighters, the Fedor joining the UFC is more of a long shot.
