Mercedes-Benz 30000 th Place Locally Assembled Car In India

E 30,000 locally produced Mercedes-Benz today unveiled by Mercedes Benz assembly plant in India. The Executive Director and CEO of the company, Dr. Wilfried Aulbur solemnly crowned the Mercedes-Benz logo on the flickering black Avantgarde E350CDI in the presence of the directors of the Company's plant in Chakan, Pune.

Mercedes had reached the helm of the 20,000 th car produced locally in 2008, 13 years after the start of operations in India. But the mark of 30,000 was reached in a short period of less than 3 years. It is significant not only on the explosive growth in this segment, but also the growth of the company.


"Take 2010 as an example. Luxury market has grown by about 65% from January to November 2010, while Mercedes-Benz India has grown faster than the market to 86% over the same period," prepared Dr. Aulbur.

Mercedes-Benz strategy for the India market has focused on providing a full range of products offer the best value for the customer and ensure a sale, world-class after-sales service and vehicle ownership experience.

These initiatives, along with aggressive product launches and improve the network of small towns and cities have reinforced the strong pull to the Indian market in 2010. This is also reflected in the growth of the company.

"Our plant is considered among the best Mercedes CKD plants in the world. Within two years of moving into a new facility, we have completed our first quarter capacity. We started our second shift to meet growing market demand we expect in coming years. "commented Dr. Aulbur.
